A lovely hambo, with a rather unevocative name. It's a quick one, but could be slowed down electronically for a slower dance.

This is a mournful, bluesy old waltz recorded long ago by Missouri fiddler Lonnie Robertson. According to legend, it was brought back from Germany after WW I - hence the name "Kaiser Waltz" or "Kyzer Waltz". But that's probably apocryphal, according to the all-knowing Internet. I don't know who composed it, but we can sure continue to enjoy it! Here's my arrangement for piano...

This is the third in a tapestry of 3 improvisations performed by Winnifred Kerner (piano) and Frederick Wilson (Irish flute). For a full description, and to start with the first selection, please listen to Tapestry in E Minor. We entered into contemplation of the tapestry, where a magical vista was seen... ... Gradually, out of the richness of form and color, a resplendent crystal labyrinth has emerged... ... And at the heart of the labyrinth lies a gossamer lake. And all is peace.

This alapana is a short improvisation based on a traditional melody. Malhar is a dark, rainy, cloudy raga. The rudra veena was the court instrument of the Moghul empire. It has a wonderful sound. The instrument you are listening to was made by Kanailal of Calcutta.

This is a meditative improv performed by Winifred Kerner (piano), John Light (piano), Joseph Grivel (violin) and Frederick Wilson (saz). We allowed the natural reverberant properties of the two grand pianos to create much of the ambiance of this recording.

This is the first of three improvisations we (Winifred on piano, Frederick on flute) played on a cold, rainy night in Oregon (is there any other kind?). We played the Irish flute into the strings of the piano, so that they responded sympathetically to both the action of the keys and the sounds of the flute. In effect, the strings sang as if they played themselves. As we enter into contemplation of the tapestry, a magical vista unfolds...

This air is said to be from the Highlands of Scotland, and is played at the end of an evening of dancing or music. I've never heard it played after a dance, but it would indeed make a fine "fare thee well." Please feel free to use it at the end of your dance evening! I've reharmonized and arranged it for piano solo.
